Boots Beauty Buys

On Tuesday last week, while popping into Tesco to stock up on fruit and veg, I passed by Boots. I normally walk right passed, because Boots is a weakness to me. I could easily go in for a deodorant or other necessities and come out with lots more. They have 3 for 2 on at the moment and I felt it would be incredibly rude of me not to take advantage.

I was very good and resisted the desire to buy lots, instead I kept to the three things I've needed for a while now:
  • Pressed Powder - something I haven't used in years, normally opting for loose but I'm getting a bit tired of the loose powder going everywhere. I swatches a couple of ones but the one I most liked was Seventeen Stay Time Pressed Powder in Medium. I did try a paler shade but it was very pale for me.

  • Concealer - Something I kind of forget about using but really should. I tend to bring my foundation up to underneath the eye which is not the recommended thing. I've read rave reviews about the Collection Lasting Perfection so picked it up in Fair to give it a try.

  • Eyeliner - I love pen eyeliners and was completely gutted last week to discover my beloved Clarins 3 Dot Eyeliner had dried out. Completely my own fault for not putting the lid back on properly but still a little bit of me wept.  The hunt was on for another pen eyeliner and this Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip one screamed take me! I loooove the tip on this and the pigmentation.

All three came to just under thirteen euro.

I can't wait to get testing these lovelies properly. Have you tried any of them?

Boots and Dunnes Launch Online Stores

This week has seen the launch of two websites that I personally have been waiting with baited breath for.

First up is the new Boots.ie

I've lusted over the Boots British website for years, crying at times that they didn't ship to Ireland. When news hit of the Irish launch, I did a little dance. But at the same time wasn't sure if it would hit the mark against their sister site.

I've had a good browse of the website and all looks good. You can purchase makeup, skincare, healthcare and electrical (to name a few) In each category there is a pretty good selection to choose from.

My local Boots is alright but not great, meaning I take a trip to the Dundrum store so I think I would definitely avail of the website.

There is one little niggle I have with the site and that's to do with delivery. Delivery is €5 or free when you spend €50.All good there, the issue I have is with the store pickup option. Having used store pick up for a few different websites, it has always been free no matter how much you spend. Not here though :( with Boots charging €2.50 for under €25 orders. Hardly a massive charge but still a little annoying.

Next up is Dunnes Stores

Literally launched today, I had to head over for a sneaky peek. This is another place I've said for years needs to be online. Again there is a fair amount of stock on it, obviously not everything you would get in store but there is a pretty good selection.

I'm lucky enough to be close to a massive Dunnes Stores, but if for some reason I was stuck, the site would be very handy.

Delivery here is €4.95 and if you fancy picking up your lovelies in store, there is no charge.

Both websites look great and would definitely be handy if you didn't have a shop near you or your local shop wasn't particularly great.

Would you order off either website?
