Holos Skincare

I love discovering new Irish beauty and skincare brands. The latest  I discovered is Holos Skincare owned by Niamh Hogan.

Holos is handcrafted in Wexford and all products are made in a socially and environmentally friendly way. I'm recently getting into more natural products for my skincare so am thrilled to come across another Irish brand.

Niamh very kindly offered to send me a few products to try. Being pregnant, I wanted to check the products would be safe to use as some aromatherapy oils aren't recommended when pregnant. Niamh was really helpful and sent me her Happy Momma Oil and Love Your Skin Floral Toner.

The Happy Momma Oil (100ml €14.70) ingredients includes orange and neroli in sweet almond oil. These essential oils energise and take care of the skin by helping to prevent stretch marks. something I am very happy to hear. It also helps promote cell regrowth to heal scar tissue. There is also Vitamin E and fatty acids present to nourish the skin and keep it smooth. Since first try, I have used this religiously every night before bed. I find it a very relaxing experience. Although it's a body oil, I don't find it overly greasy and it sinks into my skin really quickly. This is fast becoming one of my pregnancy holy grails.

Love Your Skin Floral toner (100ml €15.20) is made with Bulgarian roses and smells gorgeous. I'm usually not one for Rose but I find this not to overpowering and actually a very pretty scent. The toner can be used after cleanser or by itself. I tend to use it by itself first thing in the morning or if I am having a no makeup day. I then team it with my La Roche Posay Physiological Cleansing Gel to remove makeup. I find by itself, it does a great job refreshing my skin and cleaning any dirt or remaining makeup from my skin. Because there is Rose present, it would be a great product for inflammation or broken capillaries.

On another note, I just want to compliment Niamh on the packaging. It's very pretty and clean looking. Everything you could want to know about the product is written on the bottle.
There a lots of grey products on the website, I'm definitely going to be buying a few bits from Niamh once babs arrives.

Have you heard of Holos?

Love Irish: LadiesLoot.ie

Last week on Twitter, I came across a new Irish business called LadiesLoot.ie

Ladiesloot.ie provides the women of Ireland with an exclusive online classified website to advertise and sell new, nearly new and pre-loved items to each other and it is a platform for independent businesses to advertise their products. Become a neutral shopper who sells an item and then treats themselves to something new if desired.

The aim of the website is to offer members a safer and more convenient method of online advertising, allowing you to sell with ease and with the peace of mind you deserves. To start selling on the website you need to Register, Purchase advertising credits and Place your adverts. By registering you create your own Personal Profile Page, there is an Ad Management System Toolbox  which allows you to Manage and Store your adverts.

Paying for adverts on site can be done through PayPal and Realex who accept all major credit cards, we operate a credit system with credits costing only €0.50 cent and the minimum amount of credits you can purchase is three. Each new registered member on site receives one free advertising credit to get you started.

There is an integrated affordable door to door delivery service DPD covers all 32 counties; you can access and engage the delivery service from your Profile Page. The delivery service eliminates the need to leave the house to post your sold items and it has also decreased the need to physically meet to exchange goods with a potential buyer. Online shopping on a classified website has just become easier.

Ladies Loot can also be found on Facebook and Twitter so be sure to pop over and say h1i to them

Love Irish: Nature7.ie

I'm a huge supporter in buying Irish so decided to introduce a new section on the blog called Love Irish. Here I will share with you all the latest Irish beauty, fashion or jewellery businesses I come across. to start off I would like to introduce you to Nature7.ie

Nature7 started out in 2000 with an aim to introduce the people of Ireland to natural and organic products.Back in 2000 there were very few of these products available and most that you could find were uncertified.

On the website you can find a huge selection of beauty and healthcare products as well as household items. I was recently sent some products to try.

Green People Fruitful Nights Cream €17.75
This lovely arived just in time as I had run out of my ni9ght cream a few days before hand. This is a rich cream that smells kind of like berries. It sinks into the skin quickly and leaves skin feeling soft.

Borlind Seide therapeutic Dandruff Shampoo €13.05
Luckily, I don't experience dandruff, but the hubby does. So I got him to road test this instead of using the old reliable Head & Shoulders. How'd he find it? Well being a typical man I struggled to get much out of him other than it seemed to get rid of his dandruff.

If you spot anything you like on Nature7, postage will cost you €3.50 or it will be free if you spend €28. Which you would easily do with the selection available. Orders should take 2-3 days to arrive. They also have a loyalty point system where you earn 1 point for every 3 cent you spend. Save these up and you could get a significant discount on a big purchase.

xxx Have you discovered Nature7 yet? xxx
