I'm a fussy girl when it comes to foundation. I demand an awful lot - medium/full coverage, long lasting and not drying on the skin are my top three things though. I am an avid fan of two foundations, Lancome Teinte Idole Ultra and Vichy Dermablend. It's pure unadulterate love with the both of them., The only teeny issue I have with Teinte Idole is I find the fragrance a tad overpowering, other than that it's a winner.
In recent months, I've tried spending less on makeup and wanted to try a budget foundation. Enter Catrice All Matt Plus Foundation (RRP €6.99) in 010 Light Beige. I've read a good few reviews on it and thought it could be the answer to my prayers.
Before, I even applied it on my face, I immediately liked the texture. On application, I feel deeper under it's spell. The foundation is medium coverage but buildable.I choose the lightest shade and had worries that it wouldn't be a good match once I took it home. Luckily the shade is perfect for me.
Blends perfectly with my skintone |
It completely covers any skin issues I have from spots to redness and everything else. The foundation isn't drying and I find the application lasts all day without powder. Yup, without powder. I was blown away after the first time I used it. The makeup didn't budge all day until I removed it before bed.

I think this could be my new Holy Grail foundation and I'm almost 99% sure I prefer it to my Lancome Teint Idole. A very bold claim but I'm pretty sure I do and it's much cheaper too. I'm definitely going to pick up a shade to go with my Cocoa Brown tan.
Have you tried this lovely yet?
It's great to see a budget brand knocking the likes of lancome out of the park. I might give it a go after reading this.
