I've been meaning to pick up a compact foundation for some time and finally decided to get one to minimise my makeup for the UK this week. While I've wanted a compact I didn't want to spend an awful lot of money on it. I would;t use one regularly enough to justify a €20+ spend. Knowing this I raided my local Boots last Sunday. Cream compact foundations on a budget end are few and far between, which I think is a pity.
Luckily I came across Collection Ultimate Fix Compact Foundation.
I have tried many products from the brand and they have never let me down. Knowing this I decided to pick it up in Light and it cost €5.99, the perfect entrance into compact foundations. Ultimate Fix is a 3 in 1 foundation, concealer and powder. Now I will admit I have used a powder on top of it to give a better finish to the application. The coverage is really impressive, I would say on the medium to full if you build the layers. Even though you can go full coverage on this, you won't feel like you have its of makeup on and won't get that cakey look.
Light is absolutely perfect for my skin tone, when I swatched it, I found it difficult to find where the swatch started and my skin tone began.
The compact comes with a mirror and sponge underneath the foundation. I would personally prefer if the mirror was part of the lid. As for the sponge, I never use a sponge when applying any foundation, opting for my Sigma F20 brush instead.
Have you tried this product or anything from the Collection range?
