This blog means so much to me, I'm not sure I can put into words how much. I am constantly in blogging mode, even when I'm supposed to be working.I was overwhelmed by the support when I had to move over to Blogger and I love interacting with everyone either on here, on Facebook and Twitter.

If you like what I do, I would really appreciate a vote and if you can spread the word to friends and family that would be amazing. While you're there please vote for the many beauty bloggers we have here on our little island

The GHD Iron Exchange

Back by popular demand is the GHD Iron Exchange at Peter Mark. From now until the end of August you can pop along to your local Peter Mark salon with you old GHD styling irons or air hairdryers and trade them in to get €25 off a new GHD.
I'm definitely going to be taking up this offer as both my GHD's are over 4 years old. They still kinda do the job but I've been hankering for a new one for ages. I've been told the new Eclipse is really good for thick hard to tame hair so I may treat myself to it.
*How pretty does it look?*

Will you be trading in your old GHD?

Isadora Sugar Crush

A while ago, I was lucky enough to receive three of the new Isadora Sugar Crush nail polishes. I'm really loving all the whole textured nail trend so was excited to try them. Sugar Crush comes in ten shade, each one gorgeous and retailing at €9.75.

The three shades I got were Turquoise Crush, Pink Crush and Pool Crush.

I love all three shades but if I had to choose a favourite,  it would have to be Pool Crush.

Now we all know what a pain glitter and textured polishes can be , so when wearing these, I use my Essence Peel Off Base Coat. Wear time on these loves is pretty good, I usually get four days.

Have you tried Sugar Crush yet?

The Little Man Turns Two

Tomorrow is the little man's 2nd Birthday. I can't believe how fast the last two years have gone. It seems like only yesterday he arrived.
We have a jam packed day planned. First up is a trip to Dublin Zoo.
We decided last year that we would always make this a just the three of us day every year on his birthday. Obviously this will change to a just the four of us day if we have another child.
*I'll do up a separate post of our trip to the zoo*
We plan on going to the Zoo quite early so we get out before lunch. For lunch, we are heading over to my folks and having a little party for him.

As far as presents go, we didn't buy him any clothes or toys because he has loads. What I did do however is order a plaque from Purrfect Plaques (Irish Owned) over on Facebook for his room.

I became a fan of the page ages ago and inspiration struck to get one made up. This baby cost me €14 including delivery and turnaround time was super quick. I paid for it on Monday and it arrived the Friday. I would definitely recommend them if you were looking for something a little bit different as a gift. The plaques are made to order and you can pretty much choose anything you like. I will definitely be ordering these for future Birthday presents.

Along with the plaque we also bought him a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Bed set.

I'm making the cake tonight where these will be put on

Chocolate Letters

I am a massive fan of Choccywoccydoodah and am always amazed at what magic they do with chocolate. Unfortunately, I am far from a chocolatier but for little mans birthday, I wanted to do something special. So I decided to do his name in chocolate.

After researching what to do online, inspiration struck while I was in Tesco when I picked up these

First thing I did was melt the white chocolate over a ban marie. Once melted I added some popping candy to the mix along with milk chocolate drops and then poured it onto some baking parchment  on a tray.

While waiting for it to set, I carved out JACK and left it for 5 minutes in the fridge. After these few minutes I went over JACK again and waited for the chocolate to fully set.

Here is the finished result

I thought the process would be really tricky but it was actually quite simple. I'd definitely do it again, although next time I will leave out the chocolate drops as they chocolate came out more marbled then I would have liked.

Before it goes on the cake, I plan on adding some chocolate icing to the letters.

Jack's birthday isn't until Thursday so I'll be sure to share the rest of his birthday celebrations
