Baby Checklist

We are now on 6 weeks countdown!! I say 6 weeks but that's only if little one arrives on time. To say I am not organised is an understatement! With everything going on, I haven't had much time to do much so have come up with a checklist to try help  me get organised.

What I Have:
  • Moses Basket
  • Bouncer
  • Unisex Baby Clothes, blankets etc
  • Baby Bath
  • Baby Wipes
All baby clothes and bedding for the moses basket needs a good wash but are in perfect condition. I need to make space in my chest of drawers for all of these as well as nappies and wipes

What I Need to Get/Do:
  • Travel System - I have one picked out but want to go test drive it. Last time I had one picked but when I went to look at it, I hated how easy it was to push and how awkward it was to fold away. On a side note, I can;t believe how expensive they have become.
  • Bottles: Dr. Brown all the way. I used these with Jack and am convinced these are the reason we never had to go through colic. We did have one Tommee Tippee bottle and it was a nightmare. I'm just going with 240ml bottles as from experience the 120ml ones only do a short time. Dr Brown are a bit more expensive but I feel they are worth the extra euros.
  • Steriliser: Another thing that has gotten more expensive, then again I was ruined by a universal one that was just €20. The Dr.Brown steriliser is €66 in Boots, something I just can't justify so I went researching and the Avent 2 in 1 steriliser will fit 4 Dr. Browns. Not as great as fitting six but it will be fine. My baby bro is insisting he gets this for us so I am hunting for it on sale.
  • Play Mat for Tummy Time. Not very urgent but I'd like to have one here.
  • Nappies
  • I need to start my hospital bag! Last time I brought far too much stuff with me so will be thinking more sensibly this time. I'll do a post on my hospital bag onceI have it sorted.
A very kind cousin and his girlfriend gave us a generous One4All Voucher for Christmas so I'll be using that on the bottles and replacement teats.

I'll do a pregnancy update after I have had my scan on the 12th

New Years Resolutions

Welcome to my first post of 2015! I'm not one for New Years Resolutions really because more often then not they are a total fail. I am going to try cut down my spending habits, any non necessary things will be by passed and I will try ignore all the pretty makeup in the shops unless I 100% need a replacement for something  in my stash.

What I have decided to do it attempt the 52 week saving challenge. The idea is that you put away a specific amount every week for the entire year starting at just €1.

*I searched high and low for a euro version but you get the idea from this pic*
Not sure how well I will do once baby arrives or during the summer but I can always make up for weeks I miss. As it is, I already put anything under 50c in a jar after I've been to the shops and currently have €10 stashed in it. This is something I started doing a few years ago as I really dislike having lots of change hanging around. Once the jar is full I usually go to one of those coin machines in the likes of Tesco and then lodge it into our saving account.

By the end of the year, I should hopefully have saved over €1000. Fingers and toes crossed

Anyone else thinking of trying this or have you done it before?

Hello 2015

Hi all, hope everyone had a brilliant Christmas. I just wanted to drop by and wish you all a Happy 2015.

Personally I cannot wait to see the back of 2014. It has been a pretty tough year so am hoping next year will be better. I realise I have been a bit quiet lately and while  I won't go into too much detail I will say thank you to all the lovely Irish beauty bloggers who have been so kind and thoughtful We really do have a great little community.

Here's to a great new year! One thing I cannot wait for is the arrival of our little baby. I am taking a bit of time off to spend with family and try get sorted for the little ones arrival. I have so little done! I  have a few posts scheduled while I de stress a bit. As always I will be hanging around on Facebook and Twitter
