NYX Newbies

I've always been a fan of NYX, even more so since they came to Ireland. I've managed to work a good amount of NYX into my makeup routine with their HD concealer and Felt Eyeliner fast becoming Holy Grails. I've wanted to visit a stand for ages and today was finally the day.

I went in having a rough idea of what I wanted - powder foundation and blusher. I also ended up picking up one extra item. I got very excited when I saw the stand, hubby thought I was mad when I slightly squealed at the sight of the stand.

I picked up the Stay Matte  But Not Flat Powder Foundation (€10.99) in Nude. I did swatch Ivory too but I felt it was a little too pale for me. I really love the texture of this, it is so soft. I've yet to apply it but will be road testing it later tonight. It can be used wet for heavy duty coverage and dry for full coverage.

Next up was a powder blush (€7.49). I knew I wanted a pinky tone but more of a warm pink than a baby pink or bright pink. I must have swatched five or six but eventually decided on Dusty Rose. Again the texture on this is soft and the blush is really well pigmented.
*Image from Temptalia as for some reason it was coming out orangey with my camera*

Lastly, is the item I never intended to pick up, in fact I didn't know it even existed - Wonder Pencil (€5.99) in Light. Apparently this can be used as a concealer, eye brightener and reverse lip liner. I can't wait to try it out.

I think I was very reserved in my purchases, especially considering I could have easily bought 3 more NYX products and all of the W7 eyeshadow palettes.

NYX can be picked up in a good amount of pharmacies and the list is constantly growing. You can also pick them up on the Mc Cabes Website. I'm definitely going to keep growing my collection, is there any products you would recommend?

Hello Products Preview

On Tuesday, I headed to the lovely Trinity Capital Hotel to see the launch of a new product. I wasn't sure what the product is all I could guess from the twitter #wordofmouth is that it had something to do with the mouth or lips. On arrival, all was revealed when we saw the American Cult Oral Care Range, Hello Products. Their fan base is pretty impressive with Kylie Jenner and Elijah Wood being amongst it.

When it comes to oral care, I try as much as possible to avoid ones with lots of alcohol or artificial sweeteners/flavourings. With this in my head, I was impressed to see that the products meet with this criteria. Hello Products also don't test on animals either for individual ingredients or the overall products - another massive plus for me.

With so many oral care products being very clinical in either there ingredients or packaging, I am very happy to see a brand that embraces a friendlier side to Oral care as well as a bit of fun with thanks to the packaging.

There are three flavours in the range. I had a spritz of all in the breath spray and Mojito Mint was the stand out for me, with supermint coming second and pink grapefruit mint coming third. The pink grapefruit mint is nice just not for me as I'm not overly into citrus flavours.

I am definitely 100% picking up the Mojito Mint mouthwash asap. The prices of the the mouthwash and breath spray are reasonable at €7.50 and €4.75. So far, the products are available in Mc Cabes and Sam Mc Cauleys Pharmacies. Unfortunately, I don't have either near me but I have a growing Mc Cabes list so will be doing an online order soon. I see from the hello products website there is also a toothpaste available and I'm keeping my fingers crossed they will be coming to our shores.

Do yo think you would give these a try?

Quick Update

Hi Lovelies,

I just wanted to share a quick update with you. Some of you may have seen on my Facebook and Twitter that I will be heading away to the UK. The dates are sorted and I'll be away from the 7th - 9th of October.

I would love to tell you that this trip is for pleasure but unfortunately I can't say that. On Tuesday night, a cousin passed away. I wasn't overly close to him but it's still an awful situation. I'm extremely close to his parents and am devastated for them.

I have been bursting to go over but for more fun reasons. I'll be travelling with my dad as the flights for myself, hubby and Jack are too expensive. It'll be weird travelling without them. I'll have some posts scheduled for while I am away

MONDSS Underarm Wear

A couple of weeks ago, i was contacted my Jane from MONDSS Underarm Wear to see if I'd like to try the product. Looking for alternatives to deodorant I was thrilled to take the offer. I was intrigued exactly how they looked and what exactly they would do.

What exactly are MONDSS? I hear you say... They are a new innovative product that adhere to your underarms, lock in odour, absorbs and prevents perspiration marks. They sounded great and I couldn't wait to try them. I actually meant to try them out at the blogger meet up but ended up being the day after when I was heading for dinner with hubby. On opening the box, I was faced with something that was very similar to a plaster.

I was intrigued to see if they actually worked and can report back that they are very good. Not a sweaty feeling in sight. It felt a bit odd applying them to my underarms but I soon got over it and forgot that I had them on. They are very discreet, not a soul knew I had them on. I definitely felt like they kept perspiration at bay.

They are recommended for use a maximum of 4-6 hours and removal was easy. I took the rip it off like a plaster on a cut approach. I definitely will be using them on outings again.

Have you heard of MONDSS or tried them?

They can be found here  and retail at €9.99 for which you get five applications

*Pssst! MONDSS have 10% off for you Use code Mondss10 on before 28/09/14*
