Family Fun In Wallaby Woods

It's no secret that I am an animal nut, Jack is taking after me in a big way. We try go to a pet farm or something animal related a good bit. Our most recent trip was to Wallaby Woods in Kildare, which happens to be a mere ten minutes from our door. We brought my sister in law along with her hubby and kids. Jack is obsessed with both his cousins so it was a good chance for them to have some fun together.

On arrival, we were greater by a lovely girl who showed us where to go for the petting area (my favourite place in any farm)  Once there we were shown all the animals including incredibly cute baby rabbit and guinea pigs. I wanted them all. There were also sheep, a piglet, a tortoise and a snake.   After the petting area, you can have a wander around the farm which is huge. At every turn we found something new including some owls, one of which was dancing. There is also two playgrounds, one of which is a really decent size and would keep kids occupied for ages.

One thing I was looking forward to seeing was Wallabies, unfortunately this didn't happen. I'm not sure if they don't have any or we just missed them because the forest at the back of the farm is really big that we missed a turn to them.

Overall, I will definitely return to Wallaby Woods. They even do birthday parties so I may book them for Jack's birthday next year. Entry is just €5 for adults and €4 for kids. A family of two adults and three kids is €20. If you find yourself in the Kildare area, it's definitely worth a visit.
